Musical Ring

One day when i got off work at the falafel shop, instead of going the usual way i walked my college halfway home. We parted ways near a bus stop where something shimmered on the ground: a starfish ring. i picked it up and started contemplating whom to give it to because i don’t wear things i haven’t made. i ended up parking it on a friend’s desk the way to a poetry night.

The next afternoon a woman walks into the falafel wearing an identical Starfish on her neck. i asked “did you lose a ring?”  And she hushed me least her boyfriend hears. We agreed she can pick up it up from that friend after work, and when she arrived i gave her an option to repay me for the rescue by ordering a hand made personalised ring from me. She asked it be fashioned after her tattoo, which i did.
